Group leaders use approved materials to facilitate programs for adults during the school year. Everyone is invited to participate.
* Adult Scritpture Study meets every Tuesday evening at 6:15 p.m.
* Women's Scripture Study meets every Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m.
Volunteers work with the Director of Religious Education and the Coordinator for Youth Ministry to prepare and teach weekly religious education sessions. All adults working with youth must adhere to the Diocesan Safe Environment Policies and attend in-service meetings.
Training is provided for those who wish take communion to the hospitals, nursing homes, and homebound. Home/Hospital ministers must adhere to the Diocesan Safe Environment Policies. Additional training and approval is required for this ministry.
Help non-Catholics learn about the Catholic faith and experience our parish worship and community. Ways to serve include helping with classes, hospitality, and sponsors.
A marriage preperation program in which a Catholic married couple meets with an engaged couple to discuss aspects of a sacramental marriage. Materials and training are provided.
Join a national organization of Catholic men who meet at the Knights of Columbus Hall for the purpose of serving specific Church needs.
Provide refreshments and food at special celebrations and occasions in the parish, such as celebration of Sacraments, the annual parish Christmas party, etc.
Keep in touch with the homebound and those in retirement centers through regular phone calls, home visits, and assistance with errands, etc.
Provide social and service opportunties for parish youth. Volunteers must adhere to the Diocesan Safe Environment Policies.

Takes place from 7:00 p.m. on the Thursday before First Friday until 12:00 midnight. Everyone is invited to pray before the Blessed Sacrament.
Meet with others on the third Thursday of each month for contemporary praise and worship, thanksgiving, adoration, talks on living life in the (Holy) Spirit, intercessory and healing prayer.
Ladies meet each Tuesday, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., for prayer, Bible study, and fellowship in a small group environment. All ladies are welcome to attend.
Men meet to deepen their relationship with God.

Members prepare and arrange for food and refreshments following funeral services to be served in the church foyer or taken to the home.
Assist in special mailing projects, etc.
Provide meals and assistance to families in times of crisis such as when a loved one is ill or recovering from an accident.
Assist Catholic refugees new to Abilene and to Holy Family.
Minister to prison inmates through Bible study, prayer, and sharing. Training and approval by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice is required.
Work to enhance our commitment to respect all human life.
Help with a charitable organization of the Catholic Church serving the poor and the needy. Parishioners can help through financial contributions, volunteer work, donations to the Thrift Store (1241 Walnut), and by making personal visits to those in need (training provided).
Help greet parishioners and guests before and after Masses and assist newcomers in meeting other church members and learning about various church activities.
Members are appointed by the Pastor in consultation with the Pastoral Council to meet periodically to consider the financial development of the parish, approve funding for parish organizations and prepare the annual parish budget. Currently, there are no vacancies on this committee.

Members are trained and appointed by the diocese to facilitate the annulment process for petitioners. You may contact the Pastor if you wish to become one.
Members must be approved by the Pastor and are responsible for counting the weekend Sunday collections after the noon Mass. One of five teams is scheduled to count each Sunday.
Council members are elected to serve in a consultative manner in the development and promotion of policies for the parish.
Members (appointed by the Pastor) assist the bride and groom with the final preparations for the wedding rehearsal and ceremony.
